Danielle and Travis literally fought off a storm with a kiss. Some may call it a coincidence but at the moment the kissed during their wedding ceremony the sun emerged from grey clouds that had been pouring down rain all day.
The day started at Style by Design in Yorktown Virginia. That’s where Danielle and the bridesmaids were preparing for the day. The rain was starting to get heavier by this point and by the time we left to head to Danielle’s Aunt’s home the rain was more of a heavy drizzle. It was looking like the entire day would be a complete wash out. Danielle looked amazing in her dress that she purchased at David’s Bridal as well as all the ladies. The men got their tuxedos from Men’s Warehouse. As the ladies were putting on their final touches and walked toward the door the clouds decided to dump big fat rain all over the place. It was a team effort for the bridesmaids, Aunts and myself to get Danielle into her car safely. We were headed to meet with Smithfield Horse and Carriage so they could give Danielle and the girls a ride to the church. Despite the rain Smithfield Horse and Carriage had a lovely top on the carriage to keep all their precious cargo safe and dry.
The carriage arrived safely at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church. The rain was still coming and a cold wind was whipping around as well. You could tell that Danielle couldn’t wait to see her groom at the end of that isle. And so the doors opened and the moment she rounded the corner her face lit up. She walked slowly toward the man of her dreams. Travis was, of course, grinning from ear to ear. It was a lovely ceremony provided by Junita Greenwood. The moment he pronounced the couple husband and wife and they kissed the church windows lit up with sun light. It was pretty amazing.
After the ceremony Danielle and Travis returned once again to the carriage to be taken to the Paradise Ocean Club in Hampton Virginia. The rain had completely subsided and the sun was starting to come out from behind the clouds. I knew it was going to be a gorgeous sunset.
The party kicked off with an adorable first dance from the couple. From there DJ Jason Fox took over and kept the party moving. The flowers provided by Bert’s Flower Shop looked amazing. Danielle also made all of the paper flowers throughout the wedding. Danielle’s mother also made the cake and a fantastic spread of cookies for dessert. All of the food was catered by the Paradise Ocean Club. The Photo Booth was provided by Danielle’s brother. The entire family put their heart and soul into this wedding for Danielle and Travis. You could tell from all the handmade details how much time and effort went into creating this gorgeous day.
